We were sent some Hotel Chocolat Christmas chocolates to review this week. Massively convenient, as we had made our own advent calendar and Mummy was looking for bits and pieces to put in our daily cups:
We first got the idea for our Christmas cups advent calendar from Red Ted Art, purveyor of simple but lovely craft ideas for kids. It didn’t involve glue, paint, or too much effort, so Mummy declared it acceptable, and off we went. 24 cups, filled with trinkets, and covered with Christmas paper, held in place with an elastic band. Pegged to a colourful string for us to grab on our way downstairs every morning. Simple!
The Mingles and Jingles bag is everything you’d expect from Britain’s premier cocoa grower and chocolatier – simple, gorgeous and pretty – and the perfect size to go in a pocket advent calendar. Of course, we’re well into advent now, but these would also be perfect to have in a dish by the front door for unexpected Christmas visitors. We usually make something festive to give to guests who drop in with Christmas cheer – it looks pretty by the door and gives us a nice warm feeling as we wave them goodbye. But if you want to keep it simple these would be perfect.
The Hotel Chocolat Christmas range is just gorgeous, as usual, but this year they have something extra special up their sleeves to add to the celebrations. Check out this gift box that is waiting to be opened at Westfield shopping centre in London right now:
How cool is that? Proof that you just never know what you’re going to get when you unwrap a gift box!
That said, Mummy is fairly exacting about what should be inside her Christmas wrapping paper this year. The Hotel Chocolat Christmas wreath is firmly on her list in permanent marker:
She’s planning on curling up with the comfort of Britain’s favourite puddings:
And on Christmas day she’s requested a Hotel Chocolat Christmas Cracker to keep her busy while we all play with our mini-sewing kits and plastic magnifying glasses 😉
What’s your favourite?
