Gifts for Girls: Gorgeous Sarah Stokes bag and Homewares

Perfect gifts for girls

I have small but firm base of lovely girlfriends. Over the (many) years that I’ve known them, we’ve learned so much about each other that we can go months without talking, and yet click right back into the swing when we’re together. We’ve been through school, university, boyfriends, marriage(s), and children together, so it’s safe to say we know a thing or two about each other. But can I find a decent gift for them when their birthdays come round?

Knowing each other for so long means that we’ve exhausted the usual gift range, and the inspirations we’ve had over the years. Plus, this year we all turn 50. That’s a lot of gifts, and none of us really needs anything any more. But we still love to receive beautiful things, so it’s always good when I hit on some inspiration.

This gorgeous tote bag from Sarah Stokes is the perfect gift for girlfriends

My most recent giftware crush is the Sarah Stokes range, including this gorgeous Fox canvas bag. On my forays into London for meetings recently I’ve noticed a trend for colourful canvas bags rather than the heavier traditional handbags I used to carry. It makes sense; they’re roomy (perfect for storing your heels until you’re just outside your meeting venue!), pretty and practical. This one has a pocket for your phone, and zips closed, which is always a reassurance when you’re in a busy city.

This gorgeous fox cushion is the perfect gift for girls

Not stopping with bags, the Sarah Stokes range includes this lovely cushion, that I almost lost to my 11 year old daughter. Gifts for girls her age are also tough to find sometimes, as they start to crave all the grown up things you’d rather they didn’t. Mine has recently had a room makeover and insists that this cushion would be perfect on her futon.

Gifts for girls: what could be better than a cup of tea from this pretty fox mug?

And when my friends get home from a long day out, what could be lovelier than a cup of Earl Grey from this gorgeous fox mug? Made from new bone china, it comes in a branded gift box, making it perfect to wrap and post to my friends at the other end of the country.

  1. For my own girls, who all three are not the most girly girls I know either a notebook or one of the shoulder bags would be perfect

  2. At some point every girl I know has cuddled up on the sofa cuddling a cushion or pillow. The cushion is the perfect gift as everyone has a mug of their own and bags get worn and replaced but a favourite cushion just gets comfier and more personal the longer you have it

  5. Well I think it depends on the girl. Any gift can be a ‘girl’ gift, even if it’s trains or blue or spaceships. 🙂 But my favourite items from the shop are the Bagel Dog and the Knitted Pooh Money Bank. Very sweet!
